Odynovo Supports a Charity Event in Geneva
Recently, Odynovo (formerly My Odyssey Tours) sponsored a raffle in Geneva organized by the 1% for Development Fund. The aim of the 1% for Development Fund is to assist and support small-scale development projects, especially encouraging individuals and companies to support and improve the living conditions, well-being and dignity of communities in developing countries. This public welfare activity was held on March 21st, 2018 in the United Nations Office at Geneva, in which Odynovo provided a USD 500 Coupon as the prize. All the funds raised in this activity will go towards a project that will probably be in India. For more information on this public welfare activity, please read the UN Special (magazine).

Odynovo shows its enthusiasm for public welfare and demonstrates a long term commitment to supporting the development of South East Asia with a particular focus on the issue of children. In order to achieve their goal, Odynovo set up a non-profit project - Odynovo Cares. As a part of this project, since its establishment, Odynovo staff have paid visits to Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bhutan, India and Nepal many times and joined in the local public welfare since its establishment, appealing to everyone to draw attention to the issue of education, animal welfare, disaster relief and community development in these areas.
In 1976, a small group of United Nations staff members in Geneva set up the 1% for Development Fund whose aim is to support small-scale development projects by contributing 1% of their salaries. This Fund was inspired by the 1970 UN Resolution 2626 (XXV) calling on developed countries to allocate 0.7% of their GNP for official development assistance. Nowadays, membership in the Fund is open to anyone who adheres to the Fund's aims, rather than just UN staff members.
