Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) Guide

Learning about the facilities available at Bangkok's Don Mueang (DMK) Airport can greatly enhance your travel experience. Whether you are arriving, departing, or in transit, this guide provides all the essential information for a seamless and pleasant start of your Thailand tour.

Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) serves as a complementary airport to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok, focusing primarily on low-cost carriers and regional flights. If you are traveling via a connecting flight from another country or within Asia, you might land at DMK Airport in Bangkok.

It consists of Terminal 1 for international flights and Terminal 2 for domestic flights, which are connected by a unique glass exterior elevated walkway. The two terminals are connected by a shuttle bus service that runs every 15 minutes.

Upon arrival at Don Mueang Airport, travelers proceed through immigration for visa checks and entry stamps, which typically takes about 30 - 60 minutes depending on the time of day and number of flights.

After clearing immigration, travelers collect their baggage from the designated carousel and then pass through customs, which usually adds another 20 - 30 minutes. The entire process is streamlined, with clear signage and assistance available.

If you are holding Tourist Visa Exemption passports, you can save some time from queueing in Landing Visa Counter.

The hotel Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok is directly connected to the airport via an air-conditioned pedestrian bridge, making it convenient for those with early morning or late-night flights.

The airport provides various transportation options, such as taxis, ride-sharing apps, public buses, and a direct shuttle bus to Suvarnabhumi Airport. These services connect you to downtown Bangkok in approximately 45 - 60 minutes, depending on the traffic. You can also book with our customized tour packaged with private transfer service to and from Don Mueang Airport, which is safe, convenient and time saving.
