About half a century earlier than the Panama Canal, the Canal Railway had connected the Atlantic and the Pacific. Early in the morning, you will board a sightseeing train on the original Canal Railway to travel through the jungles along the Panama Canal until to Colón.
From Colón, you will then move to Portobelo to marvel at its UNESCO-listed fortifications that protected the transatlantic trade of the Spanish Empire between the 17th and 18th centuries.
Afterward, take a boat on the Gatun River to an Embera Indian village to discover the tribe's traditions, believes, and cultures, try a bona fide lunch prepared by Embera women, watch a traditional Embera dance, and shop for some Embera handicrafts.
