Madagascar Exploration with Antananarivo Rainforest

Itinerary

• Day 1: Antananarivo, Arrival

  Welcome to Madagascar, an island of fantasy and adventure! Upon your arrival at the Ivato International Airport, our representative will welcome you in the lobby, and your private driver will wait for you outside the restricted zone. Your journey begins with the discovery of the capital Antananarivo. The traditional open-air markets, colonial houses, historical buildings such as the Royal Palace or the old city station are exceptional treasures of the city.

• Day 2: Antananarivo - Andasibe

  We leave the capital and head to Andasibe, the center of an upland tropical forest area. During the 150 km (3.5 hours) of trails, traditional villages, rice fields, and hills will pass before your eyes. Check-in and rest until nightfall, equipped headlamps, and torches, and then you will take a night walk with a local guide through the rainforest of the reserve to look for the primates, amphibians, and reptiles of the Malagasy forest.

• Day 3: Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

  Leave the hotel around 7:30 am for the best observation conditions to explore one of the protected areas of the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. In this 2 to 3 hours hiking, your curiosity will be awakened by the beautiful song from indri, the largest lemur species, and your senses will be fired up between the exceptional flora, and unique wildlife. It's an opportunity for you to get as close as possible to the endemic biodiversity of the island.

• Day 4: Andasibe - Antananarivo

  Take the road back to the capital in high colors, and you will notice the diversity of landscape that the island presents. En route, stop at the city of Moramanga, where you can observe the Fasan'ny Mahery Fo or Tomb of the Martyrs marking the event of 1947, and the monument marking the Malagasy participation in the two world wars. After traveling 150 km, the rest of the time is yours to discover more of Antananarivo.

• Day 5: Antananarivo - Anjajavy

  Take the private flight to the Anjajavy, the west coast 120 km north of Majunga. It is an excellent place combining relaxation, discovery, and adventure, as its lush flora, unique fauna, and so many others biodiversity, as well as the rustic village of Anjajavy, its warm and joyful people, colorful land and aquatic activities.

• Day 6: Adventure in Anjajavy

  It is a leisure day with plenty of wonderful activities at your choice. You can either relish your time on a private boat for a cruise or fishing, go water skiing, snorkeling, kayaking on the mangrove, windsurfing, paddling, and surfing, or just relax in the infinity pool.

• Day 7: Adventure in Anjajavy

  Continue your exploration in the reserve. Land-based activities are equally delighted for adventure or nature lovers. Escape during excursions or walks the forest to discover Madagascar flora and fauna. Maps are provided for self guided tours, and you can do on your own with a clear map, led by sign-posted paths from the Lodge to the forest and surrounding bays.

• Day 8: Anjajavy - Antananarivo, Departure

  Return to Antananarivo on a private charter plane and admire the breathtaking scenery from the air duirn the 1.5 hours flight After landing at Antananarivo, you will be transferred to the international terminal according to your flight schedule. Have a nice flight!
