Day 3: Petra - Amman
Today, you will have an English-speaking expert guide for a 2-hour introduction to Petra. After that, it is free time for exploration at your pace.
First, you will walk through the Siq, the main entrance to Petra, which looks like a long, narrow and dim crack in the rock mountain. Al Khazneh (The Treasury) is right before your eyes when you reach the end of Siq canyon. Al Khazneh is a 39-meter-high mausoleum for the Nabataean King Aretas IV carved deep into the red sandstone rock face. Continue walking to visit other sites according to your interest, such as the Royal Tombs, the Colonnaded Street, the Monastery (Al-Deir), etc. Immerse yourself in the ancient and well-preserved capital city of the Nabataean people. If you like, sightseeing on a camel or a donkey is available.
