Commence your journey in the enchanting city of Venice, pick up your rental car, and venture through Italy to Rome with overnights in Milan, Turin, La Spezia, and Perugia. Along the way, you can stop in Verona to see the setting of the love story Romeo and Juliet, take in the picturesque scapes of Lake Garda, Lake Como, and Lake Maggiore, zip the narrow alleys of Genoa on a traditional rickshaw, and explore the famous Cinque Terre at your own pace. Visit Lucca and Perugia at your leisure before ending your trip to Rome.

Day 1: Self-drive Route: Venice - Verona - Sirmione - Milan (310 km)
Pick up your rental car in Venice and start your picturesque road trip to Verona, famous as the setting of the love story Romeo and Juliet. Explore its historic center with a visit to the 'Juliet Balcony' either on a guided walk or totally on your own.
Continue to Sirmione, the pearl of Garda Lake, where a reserved boat cruise will take you to savor the scenery and sights of the lake and the town. After some free time here, proceed to Milan for the night.

Day 2: Self-drive Route: Milan - Tremezzina - Milan (220 km)
Free morning to explore the city either on a guided tour or at your own pace. Don't miss the Duomo - the largest church in Italy, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II - the most aged active shopping gallery in Italy, and the Sforzesco Castle - now a museum with rich collections.
Depart for Tremezzina on the shore of Como Lake in the early afternoon and enter Villa Carlotta, where nature and masterpieces have stood together in perfect harmony for over three hundred years. From here, you can overlook the colorful village of Bellagio across the lake. Return to Milan in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Self-drive Route: Milan - Stresa - Turin (232 km)
Following breakfast, continue your journey toward Stresa, where you will hop on a public boat to visit the Borromean Islands within Lake Maggiore. You can disembark on Isola Bella for its glorious Borromeo Palace and enchanting Italian Baroque garden or Isola Madre for its huge English-style garden. At the end of the boat cruise, get back to Stresa and move on to Turin for the night.

Day 4: Self-drive Route: Turin - Barolo - Alba - Asti - Turin (172 km)
Discover the UNESCO-listed growing area of the famous Langhe vinery today, amid the rolling hills and immaculate vineyards. Make a stop in Barolo, visiting the Wimu Wine Museum to learn about the history of wine-making in Italy and how it influences the process of human civilization as well as artistic expression. Before returning to Turin, it's recommended to stop in Alba for its tasting cuisine and nearby Asti for its wine.
