About This Trip
In the Pantanal, the world's largest tropical wetland, the wildlife is amazingly abundant and is a paradise for wildlife viewing. This tour focuses on the south of the Pantanal. You'll spend three days tracing the footsteps of Jaguars and one day tracing the endangered Hyacinth Macaw. Besides, you can choose some activities of your interest like birdwatching, wildlife safaris, and a photographic safari.

Day 1: Arrival, Pantanal
Welcome to South Pantanal, the largest wetland in the world and served as home to the endangered jaguar! Your English-speaking driver will pick you up at Campo Grande Airport and escort you to your lodge inside the Caiman Ecological Refuge. The trip takes approximately 3.5 hours including 1 hour on a dirt road. Check-in and take the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Pantanal (South)
Project Onçafari is a non-profit conservation initiative that aims to promote ecotourism in the Pantanal by habituating jaguars in order for people to witness the fascinating behavior of these beautiful animals from a safari vehicle. In the following three days you will join this project to trace the footsteps of jaguars. Besides this project you can also enjoy the regular activities offered by the lodge, such as walking in the forests to observe small animals and local vegetation, taking a walk to the Paizinho's Bridge to observe the spectacled caimans, riding a specially adapted vehicle for a photographic safari, rowing a three-seat Canadian canoe in the bays of the ranch, and taking a night walking tour to observe nocturnal animals.

Day 3: Pantanal (South)
Spend a full day and evening continuing your Project Onçafari to seek jaguars. You could go out with the Jaguar Habituation Team as they search for jaguars. The team uses some technological means to track jaguars, so this would enhance your chances to encounter them. You will also be given a full presentation on the project's work and objectives at their base station.

Today is the last day of jaguar scouting, and you could enjoy the last opportunity to seek jaguars.

The activities today are up to you. You can choose two from the regular activities offered by the lodge to soak in the wonderful world of nature.

Day 6: Pantanal (South)
Pantanal has much more to offer in addition to jaguars. Another highlight whining traveling in Pantanal is the Hyacinth Macaw Project. At around 7 am, you will join this tour to track these endangered birds accompanied by an English-speaking guide. The afternoon is left for you to take another regular activity that the lodge offers.

Day 8: Pantanal (South), Departure
After breakfast, your private guide will escort you to Campo Grande Airport via a 3.5-hour drive and then assist you with airport check-in procedures. Bid farewell to Pantanal and board your departure flight. Boa Viagem!
