About This Trip
On this 9-day Brazilian adventure, you'll see the spectacular Amazon rainforest and various wildlife. You'll spend four nights in Cristalino Jungle Lodge, where you can enjoy the beauty of River Cristalino. Spend the next few days in the Araras Lodge. Both lodges offer plenty of activities like fauna and flora watching, trekking, canoeing, and photo safari. You can take some of the activities per your interest to experience the charm of Amazon.

Day 1: Cuiaba - Alta Floresta
Embark on Zul airline flight departing from Cuiaba at 12:30 pm and arriving in Alta Floresta at 13:45.
On arrival, staff from the Cristalino Jungle Lodge will meet you at the airport and accompany you to take a one-hour drive and then half-hour boat on the striking Cristalino River to the lodge. During your stay in the lodge, meals will be serviced at the lodge's restaurant. Drinks are not included and must be paid directly.

Day 2: Alta Floresta
Every day, either in the morning or afternoon, the lodge has various outdoor activities for your choices, ranging from canoeing to hiking, observation towers visit, fauna & flora observation, and boat trips. Specialized local guides will be provided to ensure that you get the best out of your experience. You can often combine two or more activities in one outing.
Canoeing is a good way to enjoy the amazing scenery of the River Cristalino and adds more possibilities for you to sport birds and monkeys, such as herons, sunbittern, Anhinga, and white-whiskered spider monkeys. The hotel provides comfortable and safe equipment for that.

Enjoy the activities you choose from the above options as mentioned.
Cristalino offers specialty trails passing through different types of vegetations, including terra firma forest, wetland forest, tropical campinarana, and upland areas. Join in the small group nature hikes along the trails will provide you a general understanding of the tropical ecosystem.
For a truly Amazon experience, you should not miss out on a visit to Cristalino Lodge's observation towers that provide panoramic views above the canopy of the jungles and great chances to observe birds inhabiting the canopy of the trees reaching over 45 meters.

Day 4: Alta Floresta
Enjoy the activities you are interested in, for example, the Watching Fauna and the Flora or Boat Trips.
In the former one, you will find some of the most iconic species of Brazil. The boat trips with experienced guides in attendance are also a fundamental part of your visit since many of the trails are only accessible by boat and on the journey, you will have the opportunity to observe wildlife along the river.

Day 5: Alta Floresta - Cuiaba - Pantanal (North)
Take the shared transfer back to Alta Floresta airport for your flight to Cuiaba, Azul airline flight departing at 12:30 and arriving at 13:45. On arrival, you will be transferred to Araras Lodge in the north of Pantanal. It will take around 2.5 hours on road with the first part of the journey on a paved road along with farms and cattle ranches and the second part along the Transpantaneira Park Road, a rough road and the gateway to the Northern Pantanal. The park road provides a great chance for you to observe Pantanal ecosystem, especially the wildlife with some of them may be walking down, sunning on, or crossing the road.
Late afternoon, you can take the Introduction Walk lasting around 1 to 1.5 hours in which you will be shown the impounding and treatment of water and effluents, destination of garbage, explanations regarding water heating, and the CORIXO (flood channel) of the caiman; enjoy the spectacular sunset from an observation tower; reach to Barara for the possibility of convivial with regional ranchers and cowboys. If you arrive late at the lodge, this walk will be done the next morning.

Day 6: Pantanal (North)
Araras Eco Lodge offers various activities such as Trekking, Canoeing, and Canoeing. Every day, you can do three tours, one in the early morning, one in the afternoon, and one after dinner. Each group has a maximum number of 10 guests. The excursion usually lasts three to four hours and is always conducted by an expert guide. For maximum security, all activities are monitored via radio.
Trekking usually takes around 2 to 3 hours and provides the closest contact with the environment while reinforcing the ecological focus of your activity. While in the wet season, your catwalks will be suspended 1.5 meters above the ground to allow for safe and pleasant movement.
Canoeing offers the discovery of the riverside forest in absolute silence for greater integration. It doesn't require much physical effort for it is carried out in areas without much river current.
Walks could happen either in the daytime or at night. The Night Tour with Spot Light provides the opportunity to watch animals of nocturnal habits. The highlight is when caimans are sighted, which eyes produce a red reflection, like a distant city.

Day 7: Pantanal (North)
Choose the activities you like from the following and enjoy them.
Visit the Birds Release Station where the birds apprehended and recovered are returned to nature. During the tour, you will also make acquaintance with Pantaneiro horses at a stud farm.
Horseback Riding will give you the chance of exploring areas of difficult access where it is common to witness the harmonious coexistence between cattle and wild fauna.
Photo Safaris with a specially adapted vehicle will allow you to explore the more distant area to observe peculiarities and contrasts of the vegetation as well as a large variety of animals.

Day 8: Pantanal (North)
Have another day to enjoy the colorful activities provided by the lodge.
The Full Day Jaguar Express Extension will be a good choice. Depart from the lodge at 6 am and after around 3 hours towards the south, you will arrive then board a motorboat at Jofre pier for an exciting river safari around the Meeting of the Water State Park to search the jaguars. The safari will continue until 5:30 pm and a picnic lunch (fruits and sandwiches) will be provided.

Day 9: Pantanal (North) - Cuiaba
Get up early to witness the awakening of the Pantanal at dawn. Depart at 7:30 am or 12:30 pm to Cuiaba and en-route, stop along the Transpantaneira Park Road to glance at the unique ecosystem again.
