  Today's adventure spotlights two renowned Swiss exports that captivate the world: chocolate and cheese. Journeying from Montreux, you'll board the train bound for Gruyeres, where the captivating show dairy at La Maison Gruyeres awaits.

  Later, immerse yourself in the rich history of chocolate at Maison Cailler, Switzerland's oldest chocolate factory, a testament to the nation's sweet legacy.

• Day 3: Montreux - Ticino, Centovalli and Risotto Workshop

  After two nights in the hills of French-speaking Switzerland, travel to the Italian-speaking region of Ticino. Journey by train to Domodossola, Italy, and proceed with the panoramic Centovalli train, passing towering Alpine cliffs as it winds its way into Locarno, Switzerland. There, a short train ride brings you to Lugano, the largest city in Ticino.

  That evening finds you at Grotto San Rocco. Your host guides you in preparing a classic "Grotto Risotto" using local ingredients. Afterward, dine on the terrace, taking in twinkling night views of Lugano across the lake.

• Day 4: Lugano - Lucerne

  Around noon, enjoy a guided tour of Lugano, a city that combines scenic alpine beauty with Italian flair. Make several stops to sample regional specialties from Ticino, such as the renowned white Merlot wine.

  Then, board your train for Lucerne. Upon arrival, leisurely explore this picturesque city peppered with historic architecture. We recommend strolling scenic Chapel Bridge or gliding across peaceful Lake Lucerne for panoramic views of Mount Pilatus rising from its shores.

• Day 5: Lucerne - Bern, Cheesemaking and Tasting
