When touring Laos, you can cruise along the Mekong River to Pakbeng and observe the morning alms-giving ritual. Day 1: Arrival, Bangkok
Upon arrival at Bangkok, meet & greet your tour guide before transferring to the hotel. Free at leisure after check-in. The rest of the day is for you to recover from the jet lag.

Day 2: Bangkok
Today, prepare yourself for a lovely Bangkok city! Walk around the bustling flower and vegetable market to feel authentic local life. Later, go to the impressive Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew inside the palace.
After lunch, your guide will take you on a long-tail boat trip along the canal to get a lovely view of the city. Finally, make a stop at Wat Arun, one of the most published images of Bangkok.

Day 3: Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok
This morning, drive to Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand. The first place you'll visit is Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, one of the most beautiful Summer Palaces in Thailand. Afterward, head to Ayutthaya Historical Park for a cultural heritage exploration. Your tour guide will take you to explore the highlights of this park, including Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit.
After the tour, you will be driven back to Bangkok.

Day 4: Bangkok - Chiang Mai
Take the morning flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check - in and have a short break. Visit the wondrous temple of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which is near the top of Mount Doi Suthep. A wide walkway around the main temple leads you to a terrific viewing terrace with impressive views of Chiang Mai.
Optional: Enjoy a Khantoke Dinner and Cultural Show in the evening (at your own expense).

Day 5: Chiang Mai
Baan Chang Elephant Park is a sustainable, ethical elephant refuge 50 minutes north of the city. Today you will leave your hotel at 8:30 to 9:00 by shuttle bus to enjoy an Elephant's Day Care experience in the park. Roam among the elephants, touch them, help to bathe them and play with them. Besides, you can help prepare and serve their lunch and visit the baby elephants in their nursery area before returning to Chang Mai with amazing memories of these intelligent and curious creatures.

Day 6: Chiang Mai
Today, you would take a half-day cooking class. On the way to the class, you will stop at a local market for a brief tour and a selected chef will teach you how to make delicious Thai food. Then enjoy your self-made lunch! Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 7: Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai
Today after breakfast, you will head to Chiang Rai. En route, stop for a while at a hot spring. Then ride all the way to enjoy the countryside and beautiful mountains. Upon arrival in Chiang Rai, visit the Wat Phra Singh, and proceed to the Mae Sai Border. Next, we visit the Golden Triangle in Chiang Sean, renowned for centuries as the center of the opium trade. From a hill top viewpoint, marvel at the splendor of the mighty Mekong joining with the Ruak and forming the actual "Triangle" with Laos, Burma, and Thailand.

Day 8: Chiang Rai - Chiang Khong - Houayxay - Pakbeng
After Breakfast, start your trip to Chiang Khong, a small town in Chiang Rai Province in Northern Thailand. Then take a boat sailing through Khong River to Houayxay Checkpoint. Your guide will assist you in applying for Laos Visa. When the procedure is done, cruise down the Mekong River to Pakbeng, experience the majestic sights and cultural marvels. On the way visit a village of the Yao or Lu tribes and observe their natural lifestyles, and enjoy a buffet lunch on board. The boat trip ends at Luang Say Lodge, and you'll have dinner on the terrace with a majestic panoramic view of the Mekong River.

Day 9: Pakbeng - Luang Prabang
In the morning, you can wander around the Pakbeng Market, filled with beautiful smiles, sweet chatters and dazzled local goods. Then you will check out of the hotel and cruise down to Luang Prabang, which is the top place to visit in Laos with green mountains, outstanding natural beauty, and gold-plated Buddhist temples. Next stop is Ban Baw where you can appreciate how rice wine is made. Enjoy your buffet lunch on board. Continue down the Nam Ou River, you will visit Pak Ou Caves renowned for their miniature Buddha sculptures. After the tour, your guide and driver will pick you up at the dock in Luang Prabang, and escort you to the hotel.

Day 10: Luang Prabang
Today, you can get up early in the morning and experience the sacred alms giving tradition of Buddhists monks, then go to visit the lively morning Phousi Market, the largest fresh market in Luang Prabang. In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Royal Palace Museum, which is a mixed art building of French and Buddhist style and features a variety of royal religious artifacts, the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, stupa of Wat Visoun, the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. Next, you can climb up Mount Phousi, which is a good place to watch sunrise and sunset, overlooking whole Luang Prabang and Mekong River, then pass by a night market.

Day 11: Luang Prabang
In the morning, head to Kuang Si Waterfalls. These waterfalls with its white limestone and calcified tiers are a favorite side trip for tourists in Luang Prabang. The falls begin in shallow pools atop a steep hillside. These lead to the main fall with a 60 meters (200 ft) drop. You can have a refreshing swim here and even take a dip into the cool blue water of the pools beneath. On the way back, you will visit the Lao minority groups: Ban Ouay Village, Ban Ou Village and Ban Thapene Village, you may have a close contact with local people and explore their colorful costumes and unique customs. After that, enjoy a relaxing picnic near the waterfall and then take a ride back to the hotel before sunset.

Day 13: Siem Reap
Today discover the fabulous Angkor Thom, which is actually a large group of Cambodia's incredible religious architectures and historical remains, listed as world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1992. You will explore the fascinating beauty of Bayon Temple, one of the most famous and popular Khmer structures in Angkor Wat archaeological park, noted for its many towers with gently smiling faces on each side, and the Elephant Terrace.
In the afternoon, you will explore the Angkor Wat, the world's largest temple, and first Khmer building, covering an area of 480 acres encircled by an enclosure wall nearly four miles long. Lastly, you will visit the Bakheng Temple, a Hindu and Buddhist temple in the form of a temple mountain, atop which it is a popular tourist spot for sunset views of Angkor Wat.

Day 14: Siem Reap
After breakfast, you will head for Banteay Srei Temple and roam further into some local villages en route. After having lunch, proceed to the tree entwined Ta Prohm Temple, which made the atmospheric backdrop for scenes in the 'Tomb Raider' movies. Then it's onwards to Ta Keo Temple, one of the tallest monuments in Angkor. Enjoy your leisure time after the tour.

Day 15: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh
Today you will have a close touch with the ethnic Khmer Village and experience how the local people live in harmony with nature. Then enjoy a cruise on the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia, where you will feast your eyes on fisherman, floating villages, stilt houses, and charming sunset. After that, fly to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. Upon arrival, your local guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel.

Day 16: Phnom Penh
After breakfast at the hotel, depart on a Khmer architecture walking tour that takes you to visit a variety of fascinating Cambodian architectures. You will start with a combined visit of Phnom Penh's remarkable landmarks, the Royal Palace and the impressive Silver Pagoda, which sit together behind the crenellated yellow walls of the royal compound and witnessed the Kingdom's illustrious history. Then explore the National Museum, the world-class museum in Phnom Penh that enhances the cultural heritage of the golden era of the Khmer Kingdom through an amassed collection of invaluable artifacts. Next, appreciate Wat Phnom, the tallest religious structure in the city and it is also the central point of Phnom Penh. In the afternoon, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Cambodia's infamous Killing Fields of Choeung EK to experience for yourself the secret dark history of Cambodia.
