Small Group Tour to Norway Fjords (May - Aug)

Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrival in Bergen

  Open your Norway vacation in Bergen city center, where your accommodation is located. If time permits, why not go out to the old wharf of Bryggen to experience Norwegian life or ascend the mountainside by the Fløibanen Funicular for a panoramic view of the city?

  As the night falls, gather in the hotel and meet your tour leader and the group for a welcome drink.

• Day 2: Bergen - Sogndal, Exploring the Majestic Fjords Route

  Depart for Flam by car this morning. En route, make a stop to see the beautiful Tvindefossen Waterfall. Once you arrive in Flam, embark on a return train journey between Flam and Myrdal, taking in the breathtaking fjord landscape in just 20 kilometers.

  Following the picturesque train ride, venture to the Stegastein Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the fjord below. Later, proceed to your hotel in Sogndal for the night. Dinner with your travel companions will be served at the hotel.

• Day 3: Sogndal - Loen, Scenic Fjords & Loen Skylift

  Journey north towards the quaint village of Loen today. Along the way, you will take in the largest ice cap in mainland Europe - the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, and the magnificent Nordfjord with its dazzling turquoise lakes, cascading waterfalls, vast glaciers, and steep mountains.

  After arrival, board the thrilling Loen Skylift up to the top of Mt. Hoven for amazing views of the mountains, lakes, and fjord below. Conclude the day with dinner with the group.

• Day 4: Loen - Geiranger, the Grand Geirangerfjord

  Leave Loen behind for Hellesylt, from where you will board a 65-minute ferry to Geiranger, crossing the UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord. Prepare to be enchanted by the fairytale scenery featuring majestic snow-covered mountain peaks, cascading waterfalls, and verdant forests throughout the ride.

  Disembark and continue to Dalsnibba for a visit to Geiranger Skywalk. Standing on the platform with a fall of around 500 meters, you will enjoy magnificent views of Geiranger and the fjord below. After the tour, get back to Geiranger for dinner and overnight.

• Day 5: Thrilling Roads to Ålesund

  Today will be dedicated to an exciting road trip. Starting with "the Eagle Road" from Geiranger to Eidsdal, you will not only feel the precipitous of this road but also enjoy a visual feast through its spiral forward. Later, take a short ferry to Linge, from where you will continue your road trip along Trollstigen, which lies at the top of the Trositi Plateau lined with exposed rocks.

  After passing towering mountains, you will reach Ålesund. Check into your hotel and take the rest of the time to stroll around this tiny town at your own pace.

• Day 6: Ålesund - Kristiansund, the Atlantic Ocean Road

  After breakfast, drive north to Vestnes and then transfer to a ferry for Molde, followed by a drive to the small fishing village of Bud. From here, you will take the Atlantic Ocean Road – one of the most beautiful roads in the world. Built on a group of islands and reefs along the shore, connected by Bridges, this road will unfold the unbeatable landscape along the way.

  Once you arrive in Kristiansund, settle into your hotel and enjoy dinner.

• Day 7: Kristiansund - Trondheim

  Drive about four hours towards Trondheim.

  After arrival, take the rest of the day at leisure. You can visit the iconic Nidaros Cathedral, whose façade is decorated with statues of saints, kings, prophets, and gargoyles. Appreciate the colorful wooden houses along the river from the Old Town Bridge. Or just enjoy life in the picturesque Bakklandet neighborhood.

• Day 8: Scenic Coastal Cruise from Trondheim to Bergen

  Board the ship to open your scenic coastal cruise this morning. Sit back and relax on the deck with the stunning scenery along the Trondheim Fjord and the coast of Norway.

• Day 9: Sail to Historic Bergen

  The ship will arrive in Bergen at around noon. After lunch on board, disembark and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Besides the city landmarks, you can also go out of the city and embrace nature by hiking, fishing, or cycling.
