Machu Picchu, Peru

Fresh Travel Insight into Peru 2023 -by Odynovo Expert

Sometimes you arrive somewhere, feeling surprised, then admit it's super enchanting and deserves the hype. For me, that place is Peru. My name is Thomas from Odynovo, a senior travel expert who has just finished the FAM trip. And I can't wait to turn my passion for the destinations into this personal story, in order to help you explore it a little bit better. So follow in my footsteps!

1. Immerse into the Inca Culture

After admiring Machu Picchu's huge stone wall constructed together without mortar, a physical form of history, I was deeply impressed by the wisdom of the ancient Inca people. Then, I also visited the Uros village built on the floating reed island of picturesque Lake Titicaca. This astonishing lifestyle has been preserved for hundreds of years, and it will continue to live on. No one can refuse such a journey of discovery, and odynovo knows the essence best.

2. Into the Wild

Amazon rainforest exploration is the most attractive event for me and it is beyond my expectations. We chose to trek through the dense humid woods, and admire varied wildlife. It was a magical experience, and I was rejuvenated by the scent of rainforest. If you choose to venture into the Amazon rainforest by steps, my suggestion is to bring a pair of sensible shoes for long walks.

3. The Hidden Gems

Peru is more than Machu Picchu: Sacsayhuaman, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, etc. are also treasures waiting to be discovered. Meanwhile, Peruvian cuisine is another "hidden gem" rooted in indigenous culture, but influenced by Europe, Africa, and Asia. My favorite is the national dish - ceviche. Refreshing, spiciness, and sourness, each element reflects the Peru's multicultural history.

4. Peru and Beyond

As an experienced professional, I always advise tourists to combine more South American countries with their Peru tour. Because, after being stunned by a series of splendid civilization ruins, why not add some equally overwhelming natural wonders to balance it out? Nearby are numerous renowned, breathtaking ones, such as the magnificent Iguacu Falls in Brazil and the world's largest salt flat in Bolivia.
