How Many Days in Sabah Is Enough?

How to Explore Sabah?
【Day 1】Arrive in town, after settling in the hotel, have a city walk in downtown Kota Kinabalu and pay a visit to Masjid Negeri Sabah (Sabah State Mosque) and have a local dinner.
【Day 2】Take a walk in Kota Kinabalu Port in the morning, and you may want to bring some souvenirs near Kota Kinabalu City Centre which has many shopping malls nearby. In the afternoon, explore the Filipino Market and enjoy the sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach.
【Day 3】Climb Signal Hill and reach the Observatory Platform in the southern part of Kota Kinabalu to have a panorama view of the city and find the historic Atkinson Clock Tower. And back to town to have a free wander.
【Day 4】After a good rest, depart from Kota Kinabalu to Mount Kinabalu, which will take approximately 2 to 3 hours drive. Reach the camping site from Timpohon Gate to Pendant Hut, and prepare for climbing.
【Day 5 】Go warriors! To embrace the first sunlight on Mount Kinabalu, enjoy it and carefully get back.
【Day 6】 Go to Sandakan. Spend some time tidying up and exploring the city by visiting the Sandakan Heritage Trail and Heritage Museum. St. Michael and All Angels Church is also worth visiting.
【Day 7】Float on the Kinabatangan River, and see if you can find your big-nose friends. And go back to Sandakan.
【Day 8 -10】Fly to Semporna, yes, it's time to relax. There are many islands for you to choose to stay on, like Sipadan Island, Mabul Island, Mataking Island, and so on. They're not very far from each other, so choose the one that suits you and jump into the crystal sea!
How to Get to Sabah?
Sabah is located in East Malaysia, and for most visitors, flying is the best way to get to Sabah. Kota Kinabalu has an international airport not far from the downtown. Usually, it would take you 30 minutes to shuttle from the airport to your hotel in the city center.
How to Get Around Sabah?
Unlike most Southeast Asian countries where drivers sit on the right-hand side of the car, Malaysians drive on the left-hand side of the road. Think twice if you want to rent a car but you're not used to driving on the left-hand side. It's suggested to hire a driver, which may be one of the most flexible ways to get around Sabah as the scenic spots are separate.
