About This Trip
Take this 10-day safari package to search for rare wildlife in Kenya. Your journey will begin from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve, Aberdare National Park, Lake Nakuru National, and Maasai Mara National Reserve. In Samburu, you can meet the locals in the Samburu Tribe Village and spot the Special Five. In Aberdare, you will observe the wildlife through the view deck of the Ark Lodge. In Lake Nakuru, the groups of flamingos will amaze you. Maasai Mara, a photographer's and naturalist's paradise, where you will feel excited on the game drives to look for the Big Five.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya, the heaven of wildlife and wildlife lovers!
When your flight lands at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your driver guide is ready to welcome you and take you to your hotel in Nairobi. The remaining time of the day is yours for relaxation. In the evening, be transferred to have a unique dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant that is famous for a vast selection of succulent meats.

Day 2: Nairobi - Samburu, Crossing the Central Highland
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve, about 6.5 hours from Nairobi by car. On the way, you will pass through the central highland rich in plantations for pineapple, coffee, and tea.
After arrival, have lunch and a short break at the lodge. Later in the afternoon, take a brief safari in the reserve.

Day 3: Samburu, Game Drives in Search of the Special Five
The National Reserve of Samburu is famous as the only place to the Special Five including the Grevy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gerenuk Antelope, and the Beisa Oryx. Today, you will have game drives in the morning and the afternoon separately in search of the Special Five and their followers.

Day 4: Samburu, Safari and Visit to a Samburu Village
Have a morning safari again to spot more animals and the scenic surroundings. In the afternoon, have a guided tour to a Samburu tribe village for a glance at local life. Like other nomadic pastoralists, the Samburu people live by water and grass. Though very similar to the Maasai, the Samburu are easily identified by their colorful beaded necklaces.

Day 5: Samburu - Aberdare, Observe Animals from the Ark Lodge
This morning, a 4-hour drive will take you to Aberdare National Park. The Ark Lodge in Aberdare National Park offers a superb location to observe some awesome wildlife, such as forest elephants, spotted hyenas, cape buffalo, leopard, bushbuck, and bongos, directly from the terraces. You will have chances to see them congregate at the waterhole for a drink or salt lick. At night, when special animals come to the waterhole, the night guard will buzz your room to remind you to see them.

Day 6: Aberdare - Lake Nakuru, Leisure Morning
Have a leisure morning in Aberdare to see more animals from the Ark Lodge. From viewing decks, you may take some nice pictures of animals on the salt lick or hear their sounds closely and safely.
In the afternoon, drive about three hours to Lake Nakuru for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara, Spots Flamingos and Rhinos
Lake Nakuru National Park hosting millions of flamingos and over 400 other bird species is an important stop on the African-Eurasian Migratory Flyway. Besides the variety of birds, there are also remarkable chances to see rhinos and Rothschild giraffes here.
Have a game drive this morning to spot flamingos, rhinos, as well as other birds and animals. Afterwards, drive about five hours to Maasai Mara.

Day 8: Maasai Mara, Game Viewing Drives to Spot the Big Five
Full day in the Maasai Mara National Reserve with morning and late afternoon game viewing drives to explore the flourishing wildlife species that abound in this reserve. It is the best place to search for the Big Five, including lion, leopard, rhinoceros (rare), elephants, and Cape buffalo.- B L D

Day 9: Maasai Mara, Game Viewing Drives
Another full day to explore different parts for more chances to spot more animals. Extending to the neighboring Serengeti Reserve in Tanzania, it's also the best place to see the Great Migration taking place yearly between July and August.

Day 10: Maasai Mara - Nairobi, Departure
After breakfast at the lodge, embark on the return drive for around 6 hours back to Nairobi airport for your flight back home. Usually, you need to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the flight departure.- B
