Day 1: Tokyo, Arrival
Upon landing at Tokyo airport, you will be met by your private driver and taken to your hotel. Once settled in, spend the rest of today at your leisure, relaxing into its rhythms and trying out Japanese cuisine.

Day 2: Tokyo, City Sightseeing Tour
Led by your local guide, the introductory city tour will take you through some of Tokyo's principal sights.
Start by exploring the spacious, forested Meiji Jingu, dedicated to the deity of modern Japan's first emperor Meiji. As you walk leisurely around the shrine grounds, witness Shinto activities, appreciate rich displays at the Meiji Jingu Museum, and relish in the beauty of the Inner Garden. Then at the city's oldest Buddhist temple - Sensoji, pass through the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), browse colorful Japanese-style goods along Nakamise shopping street, and immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere.
In between, get amazed by the 634-meter-high Tokyo Skytree towering above the capital's skyline, and sample your way down the neon-lit Shinjuku's food street. The guide will be by your side to share interesting facts and answer any questions you might have about the country.

Day 3: Spice up Your Love Life with Japanese Cooking Class
Enjoy a morning cooking class to learn about the varied, delicious elements of Japanese culinary culture. Within three hours, under the guidance of the chef, try your hands to prepare some Japanese cuisine. You may learn how to cut cucumber like an accordion while making Accordion Cucumber Salad, craft Shiratamadango, sticky rice dumplings with matcha syrup, and cook sukiyaki – a popular Japanese hot pot dish.
The afternoon is yours to explore further at your own pace.

Day 4: Tokyo - Hakone, Getaway to Mt. Fuji
After breakfast, hit the road for a 1.5-hour scenic drive to Kawaguchiko Lake near Japan's iconic Mount Fuji. As you cruise on the lake or ride the Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, marvel at its natural beauty and capture amazing Instagram photos. Not far away, Oshino Hakkai fed by the snowmelt and the sacred Arakurayama Sengen Shrine are not to be missed.
After that, continue driving (about 1.5 hours) to Hakone, a mountain resort for thermal hot springs and stunning views of Mount Fuji. The remainder of today is free to settle into a local onsen ryokan and perhaps relax in your own private hot spring bath.

Day 5: Leisure Time in Hakone
Spend this free day as laid back or as active as you like. You'll have the option to enjoy the mountain scenery from the comfort of a hot spring. If you do feel like starting exploring, the prepared Hakone Free Pass allows you unlimited use of Odakyu-affiliated transport and discounted admission to major sights. You can opt to visit Hakone Open-Air Museum, ride the ropeway gliding over hot spring sulfur fields at Owakudani, and take a cruise boat to go sightseeing around Lake Ashi.

Day 6: Hakone to Kyoto by Shinkansen
After a hearty breakfast, make full use of your Hakone Free Pass to further explore Hakone on your own. The afternoon goes with a 2-hour Shinkansen train ride to Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan with a fascinating mix of traditions, art, and culture. Upon arriving, make your way to the reserved hotel for check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 7: Kyoto, City Highlights and Sake-Tasting
Immerse yourself in the old-world charm of Kyoto by exploring three remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites: the photogenic Buddhist temple of Kinkaku-ji richly adorned in gold leaf, the vast flatland Nijo Castle built by the once-mighty Tokugawa Shogunate, and Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine with thousands of bright vermillion colored torii gates.
Wrap up the day with a delightful sake-tasting experience at the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum. You will get introduced to the rich history of Japanese sake brewing, traditional rice-based brewing techniques, and new kinds you may have never tried.

Day 8: Kyoto, Arashiyama and Private Maiko Dinner Show
Embark on an excursion to the scenic Arashiyama district for a pleasant escape. Along the Sagano Scenic Railway (also known as the Sagano Romantic Train), board an old-fashioned train and sit back to enjoy a leisurely, 25-minute sightseeing towards Kameoka. On the return journey, hop on a traditional Yakatabune boat cruise (about 2 hours) along the Hozugawa River back to Arashiyama.
Later this evening, satisfy your eyes and taste buds with a wonderful maiko dinner show exclusively for you two at a fine restaurant.

Day 9: Escape to Izu Oshima
Travel onward today by the 3-hour Shinkansen train to the seaside Atami, where a ferry ride (about 45 minutes) will whisk you over to the isolated Izu Oshima. After getting settled into the hotel, feel free to explore your beautiful surroundings.

Day 10: Izu Oshima, Leisure Day
Indulge in a full day of leisure to explore Izu Oshima on your own. You may like to relax in volcanic hot spring baths, sunbathe on the beach, go snorkeling or scuba diving to spot subtropical fish, and partake in other activities on the island's northern or western coast.

Day 11: Izu Oshima, Leisure Day
On this free day, pack your day with activities as you could want. Traveling inland, take a stroll around the small fishing town, visit the Museum of Volcanoes, and hike up the 758-meter-tall Mount Mihara for a close-up view.

Day 12: High-speed Ferry from Izu Oshima to Tokyo
Spend this morning relaxing before taking a high-speed ferry (about 2 hours) back to Tokyo. For the rest of today, you will have free time to go for a stroll through the city and pick up some last-minute souvenirs.
