Day 1: Arrival, Retreat at Blue Lagoon
Meet your driving guide at Keflavik Airport and take a fifteen-minute drive to the famous geothermal spa, Blue Lagoon. There are few better ways to recharge after a long flight than bathing in the milky blue water at a comfortable temperature, surrounded by a plethora of fantastic volcanic landscapes.
After some well-deserved relaxation, proceed to your Reykjavik hotel for the night.

Day 2: Reykjavík City Sightseeing, Heading to Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Begin your Iceland vacation with a quick city tour of Reykjavík (about 3 hours). Admire the living Hallgrímskirkja Church which features a distinctively curved spire and side wings. Stroll along the scenic waterfront to see Hofdi House (no entry), today's mayor's reception hall with a remarkable history, where the 1986 Reykjavík Summit meeting to end the Cold War took place. Shoot the iconic Perlan and the Harpa Concert Hall from the outside.
After the tour, drive 2.5 to 3 hours to your hotel on Snæfellsnes Peninsula to relax.

Day 3: Savor the Natural Beauty of Snæfellsnes Peninsula
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula, also known as "miniature Iceland", is home to waterfalls, rock formations, beautiful beaches, and historic villages rich in folklore.
Spend an entire day exploring the peninsula's highlights. Visit the original Danish-style black wooden church Búðakirkja. Walk along the wonderful coastal path of Arnarstapi village to view the fancy eroded circular stone arch. Listen to the elven folklore at the Lóndrangar basalt cliffs. Shoot the Kirkjufell, Iceland's most photographed mountain, with its perfect conical peaks with double waterfalls standing alone on the edge of the sea.

Day 4: Drive from Snæfellsnes Peninsula to Lake Mývatn Area
A long drive today will take you from Snæfellsnes Peninsula to Reykjahlidh, across the north of the country full of spectacular views of the coastline, North Atlantic Ocean, fjords and mountains along the way (6-7 hours).
Take a short detour to Hraunfossar and Barnafoss in Borgarfjörður. Admire the beauty of the Hraunfossar waterfalls pouring into the river from ledges of less porous lava rock, and feel the power of the Barnafoss waterfall surging down a narrow, rocky valley. You will also visit Akureyri and stop to see the impressive horseshoe-shaped Godafoss waterfall, which falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters.

Day 5: Reykjahlidh, Excursion to Húsavík for Whale-Watching
After breakfast, spend some time exploring the attractions surrounding Lake Mývatn. Enjoy birdwatching at the Skútustaðagígar pseudo-craters, learn about the dramatic consequences of Icelandic volcanism in the Dimmuborgir lava field, and then experience the powerful geothermal forces at Námaskarð Pass.
Afterward, move on to Húsavík for Whale-Watching join-in tour. Set sail on a traditional Icelandic boat to the ocean in search of the marine life that lives in the waters near the Arctic Circle, particularly the giants such as the minke whale and the humpback whale.

Day 6: Drive from Reykjahlidh to Hnappavellir
Another long day of driving will take you to Hnappavellir on the southeast coast (about 7 hours). Along the way, take in the beautiful east fjords from the window, and stop for a break at the quiet village of Djúpivogur, nestled by the picturesque fjord of Hamarsfjörður.
Check into the hotel and get some rest upon arrival.

Day 7: Jökulsárlón Glacier Lake Cruise, Head to Vík
No Icelandic vacation is complete without visiting Jökulsárlón. Hop on an amphibious vessel on land and cruise on the lagoon. It's a fascinating experience to get up close and personal with magnificent towering icebergs suspended in the aquamarine water. After disembarking, spend some time walking around the nearby Diamond Beach, where pieces of icebergs, large or small, shine like diamonds on the black sand.
After that, proceed to your Vík hotel by a 3-hour drive. The last attraction today is Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach just behind the village. It is dangerous, but one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with massive basalt stacks and roaring Atlantic waves.

Day 8: Vík - Reykjavík, Explore Golden Circle En-route
Depart for Reykjavík today.
Visit Skógafoss right next to the road. On a sunny day, you may see a double rainbow as you approach the lower part of the waterfall. A little further drive is another famous waterfall Seljalandsfoss, which has a pathway that allows people to walk to the back of the falls and see the view from inside.
Continue your exploration of the Golden Circle, including the Geysir Geothermal Area, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park. Upon arrival, hotel check-in and rest.

Time to say goodbye. A private transfer will take you to the airport for your departure flight at the scheduled time.
