About This Trip
Combining visits to Munich, Berchtesgaden, Neuschwanstein, Rothenburg, and Nuremberg, this 6-day tour will show you the traditions of Bavaria. Take a miner's train into the Bavarian Alps to learn about the salt mining process in Berchtesgaden. Visit the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle, a 19th-century historicist palace near Füssen. Walk to appreciate the medieval architecture in the historic town of Rothenburg. Revel in the Gothic churches and the castle in Nuremberg. All these are fabulous! Day 1: Munich - Berchtesgaden
The storied Berchtesgaden and the surrounding countryside incredibly host the second-highest peak Watzmann in Germany, the picturesque Königssee (King's Lake) and the historic salt mines.
Depart from Munich and arrive in Berchtesgaden after about two hours. If the time allows, you may take a boat trip on the lake.

Day 2: Berchtesgaden - Füssen
Take a miners' train this morning diving 650 meters into the Bavarian Alps for a vivid demonstration of the salt mining process. There, a giant salt cathedral with a remarkable miner's slide will amaze you, 3D animations will depict the mining of salt in an exciting way, and an unforgettable boat trip will take you across the underground salt lake.
Later on, travel along the sub-alpine road to Füssen. On the way, stop at Lake Chiemsee and enjoy a cable car to the Kampenwand (1,500 m) for a panoramic view.

Day 3: Füssen - Neuschwanstein - Rothenburg ob der Tauber
The day starts with a visit to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, built by the "Mad King" Louis II and served Walt Disney the inspiration for the castle of the Sleeping Beauty. The castle itself seems to come from a fairy tale, piercing the mist of the hilltop and come to your eyes.
Then, continue the trip to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the town connecting the Romantic Road and the Castle Road.

Day 4: Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Würzburg
Exceptionally well-preserved half-timbered houses and historic town hall surrounded by the extensive medieval wall, the images of Rothenburg have not changed since the Middle Ages. A walk through the town is like a trip through past centuries.
After it, travel to Würzburg, a beautiful city on the banks of the Main River, have a panoramic tour of the city and visit the Residence of Würzburg, one of the most outstanding examples of baroque architecture of Germany.

Day 5: Würzburg - Bamberg - Nuremberg
The trip continues to Nuremberg today and on the way, you will stop at Bamberg, once the residence of the Emperor and bishop of the Holy Roman Empire as well as the Centre of the Enlightenment in southern Germany. The city is famous for its UNESCO-listed old town with impressive ecclesiastical and secular buildings from the Middle Ages.
Upon arrival in Nuremberg, visit the city with its old town, its famous Gothic churches, heritage sites and its well-preserved castle.

Day 6: Nuremberg - Munich
In the morning, travel to Munich, the famous Bavarian capital, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city and its main attractions such as the "Marienplatz" square, Munich's geographical and social center. Then transfer to the airport.
