• Day 2: Beijing, Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City

  Begin your day at the iconic Tiananmen Square. Marvel at the imposing monuments around it and soak in the atmosphere of this significant landmark. Next, venture into the majestic Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, and wander through its vast courtyards, opulent halls, and beautiful gardens. Afterward, ascend to the hilltop pavilion of Jingshan Park for panoramic views of Beijing's ancient cityscape.

• Day 3: Beijing, Great Wall & Olympic Bird Nest and Water Cube

  Focus the day on the majestic Great Wall at Mutianyu. Spend enough time hiking on the ancient ramparts and take in its breathtaking surroundings. After descending, drive about two hours back to the city, check out Olympic Bird Nest and Water Cube, and visit a reputable pearl store nearby.
  Notes: Those who don't like hiking can pay on-site and take the cable car up and down.

• Day 4: Temple of Heaven & Journey to Xi'an by High-Speed Train

  Commence the day by visiting the magnificent Temple of Heaven. Here, you will witness the locals engaging in various morning exercises, such as practicing Tai Chi, martial arts, and calligraphy with giant water brushes on the ground.

  Then, board a high-speed train from Beijing to Xi'an. Upon arrival in about five hours, be transferred to your hotel.

• Day 5: Xi'an, Terracotta Warriors

  Start an attractive journey to the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors, marveling at its extraordinary army of life-sized clay soldiers meticulously crafted to safeguard Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. At the nearby First Qin Emperor Mausoleum Museum, you will observe closely the details of the Qin chariots.

  Then, return to the city and take part in the bustling atmosphere of the Muslim Quarter as you navigate through the narrow streets brimming with tantalizing food stalls and charming architecture.

Continue to the French Concession area, where you can relish the beauty of tree-lined streets and historic architecture while indulging in a culinary adventure. After a short stop at a silk workshop, conclude your exploration with a visit to the Shanghai Museum, which houses an extensive collection of Chinese art and cultural artifacts, including ancient bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy, and paintings.
