  The afternoon is left for you to explore more about the city. A visit to the Hohensalzburg Fortress sitting atop the Festungsberg would be perfect for the day ending.

• Day 3: Trace the Footsteps of the Movie "The Sound of Music"

  Salzburg is also the setting for the world's classic film "The Sound of Music". So be ready to the meeting point on time and to start a wonderful tour tracing the footsteps of the movie.

  This tour will take you back to the classic scenes of the Sound of Music such as Schloss Leopoldskron, the Gazebo at Hellbrunn, the area of St. Gilgen on Lake Wolfgang as well as Mondsee, and tell you the interesting stories behind the movie. You can also get more information about Salzburg's history and culture and immerse yourself in the stunning scenery.

  Time to say goodbye to Salzburg. Normally, the check-out time of Salzburg hotels is around 11:00 am. You might request for a private transfer to the airport or train station to your consultant if you preferred and it will be at extra cost.
