While exploring Hong Kong Island, ascend Victoria Peak via the historic tram for panoramic harbor views, and explore the Central Mid-Levels Escalator, including the Tai Kwun, full of art galleries, antique shops, and bars.

Day 4: Mari Mari Cultural Village
This morning, delve into Borneo's indigenous ethnic tribal cultures on this half-day excursion to Mari Mari Cultural Village, just 25 minutes from the city. Amidst the lush rainforest, your guide will lead you through traditional houses showcasing the lifestyles of various ethnic groups, including Bajau, Lundayeh, Murut, Rungus, and Dusun. Besides, witnessed daily life demonstrations and even engaged in traditional activities, from blowpipe making to fire-starting and tattoo artistry. After your visit, enjoy an authentic meal before heading back to your hotel.
The rest of today is open for your own sightseeing and exploration. You may like to spot the city's top sights, like the "floating" mosque of Masjid Bandaraya, or go for a seaside walk at Tanjung Aru Beach, Malaysia's sunset paradise.

Day 6: Sandakan - Kinabatangan River (Sukau Village)
Spend this morning visiting two conservation centers dedicated to resorting the area's orphaned and ex-captive wildlife to the wild. At the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, witness orangutans - man's closest relative - being fed and learning survival skills. The nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre provides you with a great chance to come face to face with sun bears, the world's smallest species of bear.
After lunch, a motorized boat ride along the Kinabatangan River will take you to the riverside lodge in Sukau Village. Arriving in 2.5 hours, check into your comfortable room and enjoy some leisure time before embarking on a guided river safari to observe diverse birds and animals. Return to the lodge for a riverfront dinner, followed by an informative slide presentation by your naturalist guide. Finally, unwind in the serene surroundings for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Kinabatangan River
Begin your day with an early morning boat safari along the Kinabatangan River, observing the vibrant awakening of Kelenanap Oxbow Lake, where local wildlife and water birds emerge from their nocturnal retreats. Day 8: Sukau - Lahad Datu - Danum Valley
Get an early start as you travel onward by driving (about 2.5 hours) to Lahad Datu town. After registration at the Borneo Nature Tours office, continue with another 2.5-hour overland journey to your rainforest lodge tucked away in Danum Valley. Check-in, refresh, and enjoy lunch.
This afternoon, partake in an informative slide presentation and venture onto a nature trail leading to the canopy walkway. You'll have ample opportunities to uncover the diverse flora and fauna in an open, protected rainforest preserve. Return to the lodge for dinner. Round off the day with a night drive safari to go spotlighting for nocturnal creatures in the surrounding wilderness.

Day 9: Danum Valley
This morning, tuck into a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the jungle trek ahead. The guide will be by your side all the way to spot the ancient Kadazandusun burial site, known as "Coffin Cliff," and ascend to the "View Point" for panoramic vistas of the lush surroundings.
After lunch, the adventure continues with an option to trek deeper into the heart of Borneo's pristine rainforest or float lazily down the Danum River on a tubing ride - weather and water level permitting. As dusk falls, go for a night walk to seek out elusive creatures that roam under the cover of darkness.

Day 10: Danum Valley - Lahad Datu - Kota Kinabalu
Enjoy this morning at leisure. After lunch and check-out, depart on a 2.5-hour drive to Lahad Datu Airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu.
You'll be collected from the airport on arrival and transferred via private vehicle to your hotel for the night.
