How to Get to Atlas Mountains
From Morocco to the Atlas Mountains

You can start from Marrakech, the closest city to the High Atlas, with direct roads leading to the mountainous areas. A 1.5-hour drive from the city center will take you to Imlil, a village in the foothills, ideal for starting your trek to the summit of Toubkal.
For the Middle Atlas journey, take Fez as your base. After a 40-minute drive is the easy-reach mountain town of Sefrou, an ideal summer escape for a day tour; or head further to Azrou with a more 40-minute drive, where you can find the settlements of Berber and vast cedar forests for your leisurely hike.
To explore the Anti-Atlas, try to start from the coastal city of Agadir with the nearest airport. Or continue driving eastward to Taraoudant for 1.5 hours, a popular entrance to mountain exploration.
